With IoT platform Sqippa, housing association 'Helpt Elkander' takes big step towards wireless management
More than two hundred high-quality emergency lighting fixtures were recently installed in Jo van Dijkhof residential complex. The luminaires - from Sqippa partner HBI Bisscheroux - are equipped with LoRa sensors. Never before was such a big step towards wireless management of emergency lighting via the Sqippa platform taken in one fell swoop.
Cost savings as an objective in major replacement task
The Jo van Dijkhof residential complex, owned by housing foundation 'Helpt Elkander', was built in 2011/2012. It is a large complex with seven residential towers connected on the ground floor. The complex includes 84 flats, care homes and a residential group for the mentally disabled.
After 10 years, the lighting was at the end of its service life. Housing association Helpt Elkander faced a major replacement task. They used the necessary replacement to achieve an important objective, namely cost savings.
This objective was leading in the choice of HBI emergency lighting fixtures. These luminaires are equipped with LoRa sensors that communicate with the IoT platform Sqippa. On several fronts, this leads to significant cost savings.
ABOUT SQIPPA
Efficient management via LoRa and the IoT platform Sqippa
Sqippa is an IoT platform that communicates wirelessly with sensors and devices in a building. Sqippa collects data and provides precise information about the functioning of devices, e.g. the burning time of an emergency lighting fixture.
Sqippa uses the global open IoT standard LoRa. This also allows other devices, such as central heating boilers and roof fans, to be easily integrated into the Sqippa platform and managed more intelligently.
Wireless management via Sqippa leads to much greater efficiency. Maintenance moments become known, faults are reported immediately and annual on-site inspections are no longer necessary. The effect is immediately noticeable, says Pieter van Erp.
