DC Frasers Park Roermond (NL)
Last month, Op het Veld Elektrotechniek B.V. completed the complete electrical installation at distribution centre (DC) Frasers Park in Roermond (Netgerlands). The DC has an area of around 33,000 m², divided into two linked units. In this project, Op het Veld shows how innovation and service are put into practice.
Sqippa clearly belongs in sustainable buildings
Op het Veld designs, installs and maintains technical installations. It is a total partner in installation technology and project organisation. This is also evident in its work for DC Frasers Park. At DC Frasers Park, Op het Veld delivered the complete E-installation:
general lighting;
data installation;
building management system
and the emergency lighting.
Op het Veld stands for innovation and service. It is constantly looking for more efficient management solutions for its customers. For emergency lighting, it approached HBI to investigate what Sqippa could do. DC Frasers is a sustainable building with the BREEAM 'Excellent' certificate. For Op het Veld, this was the ideal building to apply the extra functionality of Sqippa in.
In doing so, it realises two important objectives: Communicating the importance of innovation and contributing to sustainable building management.
Providing extra service to customers by installing Sqippa. The results and added value must convince the customer. Op het Veld creates the possibilities.
Extra service and flexibility for the customer
An important reason for Op het Veld to choose Sqippa is the open system. Wireless management should be general, without limitation in applications. With LoRa, Sqippa uses a global standard that can be used for all kinds of purposes. This allows customers to customise the wireless management and expand it with other applications. As a first step, there is now the option of managing emergency lighting remotely.
Maurice Buil is Op het Veld's DC Frasers Park project manager. He explains that for sustainable management, the ball is not just in the customer's or building owner's court.
"The conventional way of management cannot be sustained for long. Innovation is necessary and we are happy to take the first step. For example, by installing Sqippa in DC Frasers Park for a customer. The fact that Sqippa is an open system makes it very suitable. Because with it, we offer flexibility and optimal service to the customer."
Op het Veld currently has around seventy luminaires from HBI's different series installed in DC Frasers: 300 Eagle - 600 Display- 770 Septagem - 550 all-in-one and 200 Polarem, all with LoRa sensor."The scale of the project is perfect to really make a difference and contribute to sustainability. At this size, customers will also notice the difference in efficiency and costs in the longer term." The luminaires are now all connected to the Sqippa platform. Through the portal, Op het Veld closely monitors the luminaires, how they function, whether there are any malfunctions and what information becomes available. "We hope the results will be convincing not only for us, but also for the customer. If Sqippa proves itself, it will automatically become the much-needed standard in sustainable building management."
