Sqippa partner HBI joined LoRa alliance®

Looking and thinking ahead, innovating, that typifies HBI Bisscheroux. Recently, Sqippa partner HBI joined the LoRa Alliance®. With this, HBI not only sees opportunities to innovate even more, but also contributes to the further success of LoRaWAN (long range wide-area network) as the world standard for IoT solutions.

An international association for lorawan standardisation
The LoRa Alliance® aims to further develop and promote LoRaWAN technology. With this, IoT solutions can be widely deployed.

The applications of IoT and LoRaWAN solutions are endless. Currently, they are mainly applied in smart buildings, supply chain management, 'Smart Cities' and agriculture.

The LoRa Alliance® was founded in 2015. It is an open non-profit association and now has more than 500 members. These include not only technology leaders such as IBM, Cisco, HP and Semtech, but also manufacturers such as Schneider, Bosch, Diehl, and Mueller. In addition, several startups are also joining the alliance.

Lora Alliance ® and HBI : the same conviction
LoRa Alliance ® members believe in sustainable IoT solutions. This increases efficiency and quality of life. And it protects the earth's natural resources. Members support and promote the global adoption of the LoRaWAN standard by sharing their knowledge and experience.

HBI shares the same conviction. This is reflected, among other things, in the establishment of Sqippa. Three years ago, HBI took the initiative to establish Sqippa. Sqippa is the IoT platform for wirelessly monitoring sensors and devices in a LoRaWAN. Managing buildings smartly via Sqippa saves time, energy and resources and thus fits into a sustainable and circular economy.

LoRaWAN certification for products
The LoRa Alliance ® provides a certification to LoRaWAN devices. This guarantees a certain level of quality of the device. After all, customers need to be confident that the LoRaWAN device performs as expected. And certified products are increasingly required in tenders etc.

Soon, some of HBI's lighting fixtures will also receive LoRaWAN certification from the LoRa Alliance ®.

IoT and LoRaWAN solutions for a sustainable world
Fons Bisscheroux, founder of Sqippa and owner of HBI, expects a lot from the partnership with LoRa Alliance ®:

"In particular, the international focus is hugely valuable. There is so much happening all over the world. There are so many smart solutions. Only by sharing them and learning from each other will we arrive at a standard with which we can contribute even more to a better world."
