Sqippa and home automation grow with new partner Domoticom

Domotics and Sqippa go very well together. That is why the new partner Domoticom is an asset for Sqippa. And Sqippa can mean a lot to Domoticom.

Integration of home automation systems based on KNX
The founder and owner of Domoticom, Mike van der Hulst, calls himself a 'system integrator'. He integrates home automation systems in homes and utility buildings. For this, he usually uses KNX, the globally recognised standard for home and building automation.

Via the home automation system, devices and facilities in the home or building are controlled. Think of lighting, heating, ventilation and shading.

Domoticom has good relationships with electrical installers. Most of Domoticom's customers come from their projects. And electrical wholesalers also refer customers to Domoticom.

Sqippa is a thoughtful platform, perfect for home automation
One of the electrical installers Domoticom works with a lot is EPM. This company is a Sqippa partner and that's how Mike heard about Sqippa. Subsequently, Mike contacted Fons Bisscheroux, the initiator of Sqippa.

"I don't have daily projects in which Sqippa can play a role. But Sqippa is so interesting and can be such a good solution that, after talking to Fons, I decided to become a Sqippa partner."

As an example, Mike mentions an uncommon project: research into thrombosis. For this, blood is stored in industrial freezers. And it is necessary to keep the temperature below -80 degrees. Monitoring this could be much better and more modern. Sqippa would be a very good solution for that.

Thinking along with the customer, signalling problems and indicating solutions. That is a great strength of Domoticom. These solutions focus on management and maintenance by sending notifications directly to maintenance companies. And that's what makes Sqippa so interesting for Domoticom.

"The Sqippa platform is very well thought-out. It makes it easy to present a dashboard with data. On the customer side, I only need to put sensors in place that send data. The rest is set up in a uniform way. This makes everything so much more efficient."

Very interesting projects can come out of the Sqippa community
Thinking along and thinking in solutions is also exactly what appeals to Mike so much about the Sqippa community. He is curious about cooperation with partners, about applications, possibilities and exchanges.

And vice versa: as a manufacturer, Mike thinks he can mean a lot to the community. By thinking along about technical solutions for linking sensors, or new sensors.

"The applications for home automation are innumerable. And through cooperation and knowledge exchange, so much more is possible. I have experienced this in practice with the P1G2 and Thinka projects. They showed me the added value of cooperation".

Mike developed the P1G2 project together with the innovation community Qeske in Kerkrade. This gateway transmits the data provided by the smart electricity meter to the home automation system. This makes it easy to apply smart solutions. For example, turning certain facilities off or down when consumption is high.

Thinka is a gateway between KNX and Apple Home kit and Google. This allows facilities in a house or building to be controlled via Google and Apple. Mike developed this product together with Amsterdam-based software company Zilverline.

Sqippa has all the potential to grow further
Mike sees many data and IoT initiatives come by, but Sqippa clearly stands out. It is much more thoughtful, it is uniform ánd it is ready to use.

"Sqippa is a great initiative in a growing market. And by listening carefully to feedback and input from users, it can grow much further."

With growth comes more data. And the more data, the more services Sqippa can offer. Exchanging and using each other's data is also important. Getting this right will create a virtuous circle. And Sqippa will grow into a very valuable tool for both users and administrators.
